What if I have problems with the Eltima Virtual Serial Ports?

The Eltima Virtual Serial Ports are used to allow VideoRay Cockpit to communicate with other applications.

To determine the status of the Eltima Virtual Serial Ports, open Windows Device Manager and expand the Ports section.  You should see the following port pairs.

15 => 16

16 => 15

17 => 18

18 => 17

19 => 20

20 => 19

31 => 32

32 => 31

If you do not see these port pairs, the ports may need to be reinstalled.

The installation files for the ports are generated when you install VideoRay Cockpit. They can be found in the  C:\Program Files\VideoRay\vrCockpit\VirtualPortDriver\ folder

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the above folder.
  2. Run vspdxp_install.exe (if you are using Windows 7, this program needs to be run as administrator)
  3. Run vrSetupVirtualPorts.exe (if you are using Windows 7, this program needs to be run as administrator).
  4. Reboot the computer
  5. When the computer boots, check Windows Device Manager for the ports as directed above.
