What are my options to handle operating in direct sunlight?

If you are forced to operate in direct sunlight, it is important that you use either the VideoRay sunshade or you can make one yourself  it allows the pilot to see this screen without glare from direct sunlight. It is also helpful to position the pilot and the screen so sunlight is not hitting the screen directly. The small 10 X. 10 pop-up tents that you can get at sporting goods stores for between $100-$150 work very well especially because they fold into relatively small packages. If you operate from a vessel without cover there are some sunlight readable screens on the market. They will not have the same functionality as the touchscreen computer that comes with the Pro 4, but are very effective in eliminating or reducing glare and direct sunlight. Look at sunlight readable screens from marine suppliers. Please also note that wearing polarized sunglasses will be great when looking at the water but will be worse when looking at a screen. Wearing a hat with a long brim will help when transitioning in and out of the sun.  Also, wearing dark colored clothes will help reduce bright reflections of yourself in the screen, but there is a tradeoff since dark colored clothes can be hotter than light colored clothes.
