What do I do if I find a shipwreck?

If you find a shipwreck that is not marked on the chart, it is best to check in with the nearest Coast Guard or other authority. Shipwrecks of any historical value are protected in both domestic and international waters. You are prohibited from removing any parts or cargo from the shipwreck with historical value until after negotiations with various authorities (it can get a little complicated)
