As with all VideoRay accessories, you simply mount the sonar (a process that involves no tools for the SeaSprite, and only 4 screws for a multibeam,) and plug the sonar into the 9 pin accessory port. The connector is designed so that multiple devices can be connected at the same time. At the control box, a tiny RS485 interface must be plugged and connected to your computer unless this was built into your control box.
As with ALL VideoRay accessories, there is never a need to return your system to the factory to add a sonar. You can use the sonar on your submersible only on missions where it is helpful, since fitting and removing it is easy.
