Eltima Virtual Serial ports allow software applications running on the same computer to talk to each other without requiring physical serial ports and cables. VideoRay uses these virtual ports to allow communication between the VideoRay Cockpit software and other applications, such as the KCF Smart Tether positioning tracking system.
Virtual ports are arranged in pairs, just like you would use a cable would connect two physical ports. VideoRay Cockpit is configured for one port of the pair and the other application would be configured for the other.
Several virtual port pairs are defined:
15 <=> 16 (Reserved for Smart Tether)
17 <=> 18
19 <=> 20
31 <=> 32
