What are the computer requirements for a typical VideoRay system?

For the Scout, Explorer, Pro 3, GTO and Deep Blue systems, a computer is optional. For the Scout and Explorer, you can use a computer (with video capture device) for digital video capture.  For the Pro 3, GTO and Deep Blue, you can also run VideoRay's control program PC Pilot.

For the Pro 4, a computer is required.

Requirements vary depending upon whether you want to use accessories and record digital video.  For certain models of the Pro 4, VideoRay has standardized on the Panasonic Toughbook 19. Its specifications can be found on Panasonic's website. For the Pro 4's initial release in the summer of 2009, the 19 included an Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.2 GHz and 2 GB of memory. Current versions include an i5 at 1.2 GHz. A generic netbook has also been tested successfully with the Pro 4, however, the netbook does not have enough performance to record or run accessory applucations at the same time.

Computers continue to improve regularly, but the current version of the Panasonic Toughbook 19 is a good benchmark for the computer requirements of a Pro 4.
