The ROV has a vertical thruster to control vertical ascent or descent. In order for this thruster to be effective, the ROV should be operated in a near neutrally buoyant configuration. The ROV includes ballast weights that can be added or removed to achieve neutral buoyancy in fresh or salt water and when different accessories are connected to the ROV.
